Plainview collects no data. We run no servers, we use no analytics, and the app has no account system. There is nothing for us to hold, sell, or lose.

Your Instagram credentials and browsing

Inside Plainview you log into instagram.com directly, and your session lives in the app's browser storage on your device. Your credentials, messages, and browsing go to Instagram and nowhere else; we never see them and never transmit them. Your use of Instagram itself is governed by Instagram's privacy policy.

Data stored on your device

Your settings (default feed, landing page, and whether you've seen the intro) are stored only on your device and never leave it. Deleting the app deletes them.

App updates

The app periodically checks Expo's EAS Update service for over-the-air updates to its own code. Per Expo's published policy, that request contains no identifying information: it carries the operating system, our project ID, and a random token used to deliver updates correctly.

This website

plainviewsocial.com is a static site with no analytics, no cookies, and no tracking scripts. It is served by Firebase Hosting, whose infrastructure handles standard web requests (including IP addresses) to deliver the pages, per Google's privacy terms for Firebase.

Changes

If Plainview ever starts collecting anything (e.g. purchase records if a paid tier launches), this policy will say so plainly before it happens.
