Frequently asked questions

Do I need a new Instagram account?

No. You sign in with your existing Instagram account, and nothing about your account changes. Your follows, DMs, and posts are all exactly where you left them.

Can I still post, comment, and use Stories?

Yes. Posting, Stories, likes, comments, search, and profiles all work normally. Plainview only removes the algorithmic parts — Reels, Explore, and suggested content.

Is my password safe?

You log in directly with Instagram. Your credentials go to Instagram, not to Plainview's servers, and we don't collect or sell your data.

Should I delete the Instagram app?

That's the idea. Keep Plainview for staying in touch, and remove the native app so the feed isn't a thumb-tap away. Many users pair it with iOS Screen Time for good measure.

When is Android coming?

Plainview is iOS-only today. Android is actively in development — follow along here and we'll make it loud when it lands.
