Social media should be social

Plainview is Instagram without the machinery that competes for your attention. No Reels, no Explore, no algorithm trying to keep you scrolling.

Your friends, front and center

Your feed shows only the accounts you follow, with newest posts first and no autoplay. Stories get their own page - a full grid, upgraded from a thin strip.

How it works

Your account, Instagram's website, local filters, and nothing in between.

1

Get Plainview on iOS

Download the app from the App Store (coming soon).

2

Log in to Instagram

Sign in with your own account, on Instagram's real login page. Your credentials go directly to Instagram, never to us.

3

Check in, then check out

See your friends' posts and stories, answer your messages, and close the app. That's the point.

Limitations

Plainview currently cannot deliver notifications, and in-app posting is limited to Instagram's web tools. We'd eventually like to support both properly, but until then see the FAQs for the setup we recommend to fill the gap.

Get your time back, keep your friends
